FamilySearch Launches New App Gallery

UPDATE: (August 27, 2019) – The “App Gallery” was renamed to “Solutions Gallery”, includes more than just software applications (apps), and has a new URL: today launched its online App Gallery to help patrons more easily find the right application from FamilySearch’s many partner applications, or services, to enhance their family history efforts. With just a few clicks, patrons can now begin to search partner apps to find those that meet their specific need, platform, operating system, and price. For example, if a patron is looking for a highly-rated app that will help them analyze the data in their family tree, the app gallery will allow them to filter and find several relevant partner apps to choose from. The FamilySearch App Gallery can be found at

FamilySearch App Gallery, available online and accessible from a variety of handheld devices, allows patrons to browse, find, and learn about applications developed by partners of FamilySearch. The gallery links patrons to partner sites where they can access and download the right applications for their needs.

FamilySearch App Gallery partner offerings interact with and support FamilySearch Family Tree. Patrons are encouraged to try the apps that fit their unique needs, and provide ratings and reviews.

“FamilySearch is a great resource, yet FamilySearch alone can’t do everything. That’s why we work with partners to provide complementary tools and resources, and why the FamilySearch App Gallery is so important,” said Dennis Brimhall, FamilySearch CEO. “In addition to partners that are a great resource for historical records, we’ve had partners for many years that offer a variety of different experiences such as sharing with family, and looking at data in different, insightful ways, and now we want to make it easier for our patrons to know about them and to help them find the apps they need.”

    1. Thanks for your comment. This was one of the options as we named the gallery, however, the apps in the gallery are not just partners, but include products built by FamilySearch as well (so, kinda odd to call ourselves a partner). 🙂

Ultimately, this gallery is a simple place to go to find a wide variety of apps that aid you in your family history endeavors, whether built by FamilySearch or by others in the industry whose products and services help achieve the goals FamilySearch has for it’s members.

  1. Please tell me how to access these partners from within the family search program. The article does not address their accessibility.

  2. Just an FYI: “Relative Finder” is an excellent source of information about families. It has helped me find names of family members who are affiliated with the LDS Church. I thought I was the only one in my family who is a member!!!!!
