The Family History Library Announces Free Webinar Series—“Beginning England Research” in January, 2016

Do you have ancestry from England? The Family History Library is offering a special England webinar research series beginning this coming January. Come and learn all about researching in England’s rich records. Each class will be 45 minutes with 10 minutes of question and answers.

 

 

 

 

Monday, January 25th, 1:00PM in the 2 N. Lab room—Webinar: “England Research Using FamilySearch.org” Webinar. Did you know that there are various county-wide digital collections, plus the largest Church of England databases available on FamilySearch.org’s site for most England counties? Plus, there is much, much more to discover.

Tuesday, January 26th, 1:00PM in the B-2 class room—Webinar: “England Census Research”. Learn how to more quickly find your England ancestors using numerous available online tools and sites. Utilize the FamilySearch.org “search” engine as your site of choice to help you successfully search in census databases from other websites.

Wednesday, January 27th, 1:00PM in the B-2 class room—Webinar: “England Civil Registration Research”. Learn about one of England’s most important and used record sources for the post 1837 time period. You will discover steps to overcome the main obstacles to finding your ancestors. There will be a heavy emphasis on the websites most useful in doing this research and how to utilize their search engines to quickly find your ancestors.

Thursday, January 28th, 1:00PM in the B-2 class room—Webinar: “Church of England Research”. A small number of major websites including especially FamilySearch hold the largest databases for Church of England adherents. Discover how to quickly find your ancestry using these very important pre-Civil Registration records for baptisms, marriage, and burials from these online resources.

Friday, January 29th, 1:00PM in the B-2 class room—Webinar: “England Non-Conformist Research”. Did you know that by 1851 a significant portion of England’s population left the Church of England to join various religious sects throughout the country. Discover how to more quickly find your Non-Conformist ancestors in these church registers and learn their online availability.
