AI Governance Specialist & Genealogist
Alba Sort, AIGPAlba Sort is a genealogist and certified AI Governance Professional (IAPP AIGP) working at the intersection of family research and responsible AI. As well as her AI governance practice, she co-chairs the IAPP KnowledgeNet Scotland chapter and is the co-founder of SOCA, a startup that uses AI to turn genealogical research into engaging family narratives. Sort has traced family trees across Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Italy and Spain, is fluent in Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian and German, and has a working knowledge of Dutch, Portuguese and Latin, which has proven invaluable in her research. She holds a Diploma in Heraldry, Nobility and Genealogy from the Real Asociación de Hidalgos de España and a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Teesside University in the UK.
