Getting the Most Out of United States Census Records
Census records are more than just lists of names and ages of your ancestors. During this class we will demonstrate how to pull all relevant data from these records, read between the lines and trace migrating families. Other than Population Schedules, there are other forms of census records kept between 1790 and 1950 in the United States such as Mortality Schedules, Agricultural Schedules, “Slave” Schedules, Industrial, Manufacturing and Social Schedules. Through several case studies we will build family groups, gain insight into the family’s social situation and gather foundational information in which to search for additional records.
