J. Mark Lowe [CG, FUGA] User Page
Mark is a full-time professional genealogist, author, and teacher who researches primarily in original records and manuscripts throughout the South. Mark has published articles in national genealogical and state/regional historical publications. His weekly local history article appears in the Robertson County [Tenn.] Times. Mark was one of the researchers for the PBS series, African American Lives 2, and travels the country teaching others how to research. He is the Director of a week-long hands-on research workshop focusing on original documents and manuscripts in cooperation with the National Archives. He is also an instructor at the Institute for Genealogical & Historical Research at Samford Univ. and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy. He is also a former classroom teacher and Principal. Mark is a Certified Genealogist and a Fellow of the Utah Genealogical Society, and was awarded the Graham T. Smallwood award by the Association of Professional Genealogists.
