Known Issues

Question #1: There is a browse point for the year 1850, but all the records are from 1950. Where are the 1850 records?
Answer #1: The year 1850 is incorrect and should be 1950. There are no records from 1850 in this collection. Also, although the collection title shows the years 1895-1972, the records are only up to 1954.

Question #2: Many of the Cape Town records are not found in the correct year of death. How are they organized?
Answer #2: The records have been filmed as found in the archives. In general the records have been filed by registration date which may have been some time after the actual death date. Also, some later death records have been filed in earlier years. To find the correct record, you need to look at adjacent years. The 1950, 1951 and 1952 Cape Town records are examples of this problem.
