Huntington is an extinct town in Fairfield County, Connecticut established in 1789 from part of Stratford. Two daughter towns were created out of Huntington called Monroe, and Shelton. In 1919 Huntington was annexed to Shelton.
Records. Look for Huntington town records 1789-1919 among the records of Shelton, Connecticut. Also, some of Huntington's records are available as part of the Barbour Collection, and as part of the New England Historic Genealogical Society's American Ancestors website.[1]
