| Island nation on the eastern half of the easternmost Lesser Sunda Islands in the south Malay Archipelago between the Savu Sea on the west and the Timor Sea on the east. The western half of the island is shared with Indonesia. About 300 miles (500 kilometers) northwest of Australia. See the CIA World Factbook.
