Welcome to the Denmark page!
FamilySearch Wiki is a community website dedicated to helping people throughout the world learn how to find their ancestors. Through the Denmark page you can learn how to find, use, and analyze Danish records of genealogical value. The content is variously targeted to beginners, intermediate, and expert researchers. The Denmark page is a work in progress, your contributions and feedback are essential!
Featured Content
Due to community feedback the Danish Word List is now available in a PDF format. This list was created by revising the Genealogical Word List for Denmark that is now out of print. Some words that did not seem relevant to Danish research were removed. Many words were added including many occupations. There are 1, 278 terms in this list. The PDF will be updated as the Word List is improved. See File:Danish Genealogical Word List October 2010.pdf

In 1793 the Counties were reorganized into 24 Counties. However, Roskilde is filed under København so we only list 23 counties below. The churches in Copenhagen City are listed under the city rather than the county.
The Danish name for county is Amt. The organization of Danish records in the Family History Library Catalog is based upon this time period.
