Fraud is an intentional deception perpetuated for personal gain. Unethical professional genealogists might create a fraudulent genealogy to defraud a client. Unethical individual genealogists might create a fraudulent genealogy to qualify for membership in a Lineage society or to commit inheritance fraud.
