History

Bristol was once known as Pemaquid is located in Lincoln County, Maine. Originally this was just a territory known as Wawenock, which an indian named by the Abenaki Indians and means "People of the Bay". The English established this area as a trading post in the early 1600s. To view a more detailed history go to "The friends of Colonial Pemaquid".

The Blaisdell Family National Association: This association represents the descendants of Ralf Bleasdale who landed in Pemaquid in 1635.
