Genealogy
- Genealogical material for William Claus Christian Johnson who was born 5 Jan. 1833 in Germany. He immigrated to the United States in May 1854 and settled at Half Day, Lake County, Illinois. In 1860 he went to Sumter, McLeod County, Minnesota. He died 28 June 1901 in Clencoe, McLeod Minnesota. His father was Jacob Johnson who is buried in Biscay, McLeod, Minnesota. Vital records consist of birth, death, marriage and divorce records. Original birth and death certificates recorded until the year 1916 are kept by the Boone County Clerk while those recorded after 1916 are kept by the Illinois Department of Public Health with a copy to the County Clerk. Original marriage records are usually kept by the County Clerk from the establishment of the county to the present. Original divorce records are generally in the office of the Circuit Court Clerk.
