Berkeley County
Berkeley County (or precinct) replaced the name of Perquimans County (or precinct) in 1680. Due to citizen objections to the name change, by 1681, or the mid-1680s Berkeley Precinct was changed back to Perquimans Precinct. Records of Berkeley County or Precinct are now found in repositories of Perquimans County, North Carolina.[1][2]
