Church Records
Church records include priest and sexton records from Avaldsnes clerical district. Avaldsnes clerical district included Kopervik parish from 1855-1887 which became its own clerical district in 1888. Also included Førdesfjorden from 1893-1969, which became part of Tysvær clerical district in 1969. Separate books were kept from 1881 for Kopervik bysogn and Kopervik landsogn (Stangaland), and also for the parish clerks records from 1891. These records are available on microfilm at the Family History Library.
