This is a documentation subpage for Template:User (see that page for the template itself). It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

This template can be used to create links to a userpage, user talkpage and user contributions page.

Users can add this template to the signature field in their preferences (see example documented in Help:Signatures#Customized signatures). If this is done the option following the signature box, Treat signature as wikitext (without an automatic link), must be selected.

Usage

• {{User|Example}} → Example (talk| contribs)

An optional second parameter can be used to specify a different display name.

• {{User|Example|Nickname}} → Nickname (talk| contribs)
