All I know about my 4th G-grandfather.

Joseph Savier-Margutti born 1783 Rome, Italy, Religion: Catholic

The only time he ever used the name Margutti was when he married in 1812 Norfolk, Virginia.

All other legal documents including, his 1838 Will he signed: Joseph Savier.

How does the Italian naming patterns work?

Would his father's surname be Savier and his mother's maiden name be Margutti?

How do I find his parent's marriage Banns or marriage record, What parish? Questions and more questions?
