The Kronofogdedistrikt was a geographical administrative area under the authority of the Kronofogden.
In 1965 the Kronofogdedistrikt replaced the districts for the Landfiskal and Stadsfogde. The responsibilities for both of these offices were taken over by the Kronofogdemyndigheter (the modern Kronofogde Authority.) In 1965 there were 81 authority offices per county. In 1988 this was reduced to 24 authorities per county. In 1997 there was another reduction to 10 regional authorities.
