Although there are not many probate records available at the Family History Library, there are some valuable records in various archives in Poland. Documents showing the name of the deceased and his heirs can be found.

Types of information that is given in these documents include the widow's name, including her maiden name, their residences, names of the couple's children, including spouses of the married children. Sometimes the ages or exact birthdates of the children are included. The date of death of the deceased person is usually given.

The document usually provides means of debt payment of the deceased and division of personal/movable and real properties.
