History of the parish
In 1911 that part of Johannes parish which was bordered by Rosenkrantz gate, Stortingsgata, Ruseløkkveien and Enga was taken to create Piperviken chapelry.
In 1929 the area was enlarged to include also an area bordered by Enga, Ruseløkkveien, Observatoriegata, Huitfeldts gate and the sea.
