Divorce records in England began in 1858. The files are housed in The National Archives (TNA) in London. The reference number for the set is J 77. A name index is being added to the catalogue. It can help a person discover if a particular divorce was filed.

  2. Enter a name in Word or Phrase
  3. Enter a year range (optional)
  4. Enter J 77 (without quotes) in Department or Series Code
  5. Click Search
