The National Archives (TNA) Web site has posted acollection of approximately 35,000 wills of Royal Navy seamen, 1786-1882. The original wills are cataloged as record series ADM 48. Use this site to search for a will of an ancestor who served in the navy.

Using the site

Type a word or phrase, or a date range and click Search.

  1. Read the image details.
  2. Click to order a copy, if desired.
  3. Click Add to Shopping to order a copy.

Cost

An index search is free. Purchase a copy of the document for £3.50. A link goes to the page for ordering.
