This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library. |
We mainly serve patrons from Coweta and Fayette counties, although people from other areas are welcome too! We have access to all microfilm and microfiche resources of the main Family History Library in Salt Lake City. We provide free internet access to several premium websites including Ancestry.com, Fold3, and several UK genealogy websites.

Open Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9am-1pm; Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. Always call first!
Holiday Schedule: Closed two weeks at Christmas, Thanksgiving Week, and July 4th

Center Resources
Collections
- Family History Library Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the Family History Library Catalog.
- We have on indefinite loan a large collection of Italian and Sicilian microfilms, as well as films from Poland, Germany, Peru, Jamaica, Austria, Puerto Rico and other countries.
Databases and Software
- FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
Hardware and Equipment
- We have four computer stations plus one laptop station. We have one microfiche reader, four microfilm readers and one microfilm/microfiche copier.

Staff Research Specialties
For patrons with Italian or Sicilian background, we have a staff member who can assist with research in that area.
Resources in the Local Area
Coweta County Genealogical Society, Grantville, Georgia. Their research center is located on the corner of West Broad and Main Street in the City of Grantville.
