Known Issues

NOTE: For a way to determine what digital records are likely to be found within a collection or how to find missing images elsewhere, see Document 114052, How to use Film Notes in the Catalog to determine the content of a final browse point in Historical Records.

Question #1: Some records are missing. Where can they be viewed?
Answer #1: Most missing records are available on microfilm. See Ordering Microfilm or Microfiche for instructions on ordering microfilm as well as finding a local FamilySearch Center where you can view the films. See answers below for information about missing records and their respective film numbers.

  • Zinacantepec > Zinacantepec > Bautismos 1795-1815 are not available. Order Film 442067 to see the records until they are placed online

Question #2: The Event Type and Year Range (browse point) title does not properly reflect the actual digital record content. Is there a way to determine what digital records are likely to be found within a collection?
Answer #2: The following list of known browse point discrepancies describes the event type or year range that actually exist in this collection:

  • Chapa de Mota > San Miguel Archangel > Bautismos 1851-1864, 1866-1871, 1873-1876 year range should be 1857-1864, 1866-1871, 1873-1876. The Film 748913 is subdivided as follows:
Item 1: 1861-1866 (Image 5),
Item 2: 1857-1861 (Image 109),
Item 3: 1858-1861 (Image 218),
Item 4: 1861- 1864 (Image 308),
Item 5: 1866-1871 (Image 372), and
Item 6: 1873-1876 (Image 490).
  • San José Allende > San José > Defunciones 1754-1803 can be found in Mexico, Guerrero, Catholic Church Records, 1576-1979 > Tixtla de Guerrero > San Martín > Defunciones 1854-1862, 1879-1959.
