(taken from a publication on cemetery records of African Americans)
Content
Cemetery records usually contain:
- Name of deceased
- Birth date
- Death date
Cemetery records sometimes contain:
- Relationship of the deceased to other family members
- Occupational information (such as military service)
- Religion
- Associations joined (such as a school fraternity, Freemasons, etc.)
- Parents’ names
Example Two
(taken from a publication on the birth section of Norwegian church records)
Content
- Child’s name
- Parents’ names, occupation, and residence (which is also the child’s birthplace)
- Godparents’ names
- Birth date
- Christening (baptism) date
