Location: Between Springer, NM and Clayton, NM; 19 miles east of Springer. Off of State Road 56/412.
On east side of County Road C48, north of State Road 56/412. Public Access.

Point of Rocks Cemetery
Address:
Location: Abbott is between Springer, NM and Clayton, NM. From Abbott, go north on County Road 52 ,
off of US 56/412. to County Road C-44. Turn right (east) on C-44 to County Road C-54. Turn left (north) on
C-54 to View of the Rocks Historical Marker. Cemetery is on the west road infront of the Historial Marker,
C-53, about 1 block, on the right (north) side.

History: The Santa Fe Trail had a camp site near the Point Of Rocks Mesa. Long popular among buffalo hunting
Native Americans because of a spring. It was a dangerous place, where trail caravans were sometimes
ambushed. The James White (New Mexico Merchant) family was killed nearby in 1849.

Address:
Location: Abbott is between Springer, NM and Clayton, NM. From Abbott, go north on County Road 52 ,
off of US 56/412. County Road 52 turns into Point of Rocks Road and continues as Co. Rd 52.
At Chico Road / County Road A-7 (before Dorsey Mansion) turn right (east).
Turn right on the first road to the right (south), about 1 mile.Cemetery is on the east side of the road.
Chico, NM is 1.4 miles NNW; Gladstone, NM is 16.3 miles SE: Farley, NM is 11.4 miles SE;
Tinaja, NM is 17.1 miles NW; Abbott, NM is 12.2 miles SSW; Sofia, NM is 19.7 miles E;
