Brief History

This Unit was organized at Fort Wayne, Indiana, and mustered in August 29, 1862. It march to Washington, D. C., via Richmond, Virginia, April 29-May 19 and Grand Review May 24. After service in various areas, it was ordered back to Indiana and then Mustered out June 7, 1865.[1]
