The Maine Old Cemetery Association (MOCA)Look this term up in the glossary. collects transcripts of tombstone records. The names on the tombstones found in over 3,800 cemeteries have been indexed by the association. The microfilms are available at the Maine State Library, the University of Maine at Orono, The Family History Library, and the New England Historic Genealogical Society.

There is a very large collection of Maine Old Cemetery Association (MOCA) records which also include some Bible and family records. Approximately 300,000 persons are listed from more than 3,800 cemeteries. The Family History Library has microfilmed four separate parts of these cemetery records, gathered primarily by the Maine Old Cemetery Association (MOCA).
